LACEA Health Economics Network

The LACEA’s Health Economics network aims at bringing together economists and other social scientists in order to build a community of practice to promote quality research in health economics in LAC and contribute towards stronger health care systems.

Some of the topics covered in past workshops include the causes and health consequences of risky behaviors, health effects of pollution and natural disasters, interactions between the labor market and health outcomes, health consequences of infectious and other diseases, health care markets structure and quality of health care, economic incentives in health care and health care supply, the economics of health insurance, and the effectiveness of preventive and emergency care on health outcomes.
